Applications:
DIN abrasion testers are primarily used to evaluate the wear resistance of elastic materials such as rubber, tires, conveyor belts, shoe soles, and leather.
Test Principle:
Under a specified contact pressure and over a given area, the specimen is held at a certain angle against sandpaper to measure the abrasiveness of a specified grade of sandpaper. The sandpaper is applied to the surface of a roller, and the specimen is pressed against the roller, moving laterally along the roller. Abrasion occurs at one end of the cylindrical specimen, and the mass loss is measured. The volumetric wear loss is calculated from the specimen's density.
Specimen load | 2.5N ± 0.2N 5N + 0.2N |
Clamp load | 2.5N |
Clamp lateral displacement | 4.2 ± 0.04mm/roller revolution |
Roller diameter | Φ (150 ± 0.2) mm |
Roller speed | 40 ± 1 rpm |
Wear travel | 40M (84 revolutions) / 20M (42 revolutions) |
Inclination angle | 3° (angle between specimen support axis and roller perpendicular) |
External dimensions | 70 × 30 × 30cm (L × W × H) |
Power supply | 1∮, AC220V, 3A |
Specimen size | ¢16mm, 6-15mm (D) |
Weight load | 2.5N, 5N |
Roller length | 460mm |
Wear speed | 0.32m/sec |
Weight (approximately) | Approximately 50kg |
